The article presented here analyzes the impact of the economic crisis on access to health care in 15 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Holland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. After a brief overview of the social consequences of the economic recession in the 15 States analyzed, the article highlights how, after 2008, poverty rates have risen with particular intensity in those countries that already had poorly redistributive welfare models. Finally, we analyze the consequences of the economic crisis on the health systems of the 15 States analyzed and the social impact caused by the reduction of public health funding.
