The present article examines the maritime journey theme in Spanish Romances of Chivalry, allowing a special attention to some specific chivalric episodes linked to the topic of the enchanted boat. Starting from the study of some scenes of boats without a oarsman founded in the Zifar and Amadís of Gaul, the study will deal with four different episodes taken from the Leandro el Bel (Toledo, 1563), second part of the famous cycle of the Knight of the Cross and will put the accent on the huge narratives possibilities experimented by the authors that wrote during a mature period of the chivalric genre.
