We now have a dialogical civilization—has stated TU Weiming (Spiritual Humanism: Self, Community, Earth, and Heaven, 2018) in the magnificent paper he gave at the 24th World Congress of Philosophy (WCP) Beijing 2018. A dialogical civilization is much more than a dialogue of culture. It is a culture that is born dialogical. Learning to be human is an on-going task and we fulfil it by means of exposure to the arts and the humanities. This is the basis of cultural innovation. In fact, things are changing as regards being a philosopher. Philosophy has much to offer to a society that wants to be at the same time innovative, reflective, and inclusive.
