The book focuses on the paintings Santa Cappanini (Verona, 1803-1860) executed after she had entered the Sorelle of the Santa Famiglia, a religious congregation founded in Verona by the french noblewoman Leopoldina Naudet with the aim of taking care of young women's education. Her works not only provived spiritual templates for the Sister and their pupils, but they are also a proof of Cappanini's academic training and her involvement in the cultural background in Verona during the first half of the XIXth century.
