This study analyses the representation of suicide in a group of stories from the late Ming period written in vernacular language: the story of "Lu Mengxian Jiang shang xun qi" (盧夢仙江上尋妻), the story of "Chen Duoshou shengsi fuqi" (陳多壽生死夫妻) and the story "Jiang du shi xiao fu tu shen" (江都市孝婦屠身).

Abstract
