This book presents 12 papers about the influences of the classical tradition (Greco‑Roman and Judeo‑Christian mythologies, Greek and Renaissance philosophy, classical theatre, etc.) in Spanish modern and contemporary cultural production, with special focus on literature, popular culture and cinema. Within the wide range of proposed studies, the monograph is divided into three thematic sections. The first unit investigates the subjec ‑ tive poetics in authors who are focused on the theme of exile and on the The Odyssey’ s imaginary. After that, the book focuses on the presence of female mythological matrices in the recent Hispanic literature. The last section is devoted to theoretical studies on relations between mythologisation and fictionality in the cultural artifacts of the Hispanic world.
