The volume is divided into three main sections, each related to a different but complementary area in teacher education for prospective English teachers. Each section comprises an introductory chapter delineating the theoretical framework related to the topic(s) in the section, followed by some lesson plans (4 for Literature/Culture, 5 for World Englishes and ELF and 4 for The role of reflection in L2 teacher education) developed by trainee teachers who attended PAS/TFA English language (and Literature/Culture) courses at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Verona. The first section, “Teaching English Literature: Cultural Perspectives and Frameworks” by Chiara Battisti and Sidia Fiorato, is dedicated to literature/culture and divided into 5 main subsections: Ecocriticism, Interculturalism, Popular Culture, Visual Culture, Theatre, corresponding to recent trends in literary and cultural studies. The theoretical part is followed by four lesson plans. The second section, “Including World Englishes and English as a Lingua Franca in classroom practices: proposals from ‘good practices’ in teacher education” by Paola Vettorel, deals with the pedagogical implications of research into World Englishes and English as a Lingua Franca for ELT. The theoretical introduction is followed by five lesson plans. The third section, “The role of reflection in L2 teacher education. Student teacher’s lesson plans as tools for promoting professional development” by Cristina Richieri, presents reflective models and discuss the effectiveness of reflection in teacher education. The theoretical part is followed by four lesson plans.
