In the vast domain of Holocaust literature, this essay focuses on a group of novels whose plots evoke the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel". In the Brothers Grimm's collection this is one of the darkest tales. In the novels analysed in this essay, the story becomes a metaphor for the violation of children's rights and human dignity.
