Our analysis focuses on lamps fragments from excavations of the “Tempio C, Ambiente A” in the years 2005 to 2008. The stratifigraphic units taken into account belong to the “saggio 5”: some of them are included in the more extended “saggio 4”. The analysis of stratifigraphic units follows a chronological criterion. Not all the fragments could be dated, because of their bad state of preservation. The chronology offered for many fragments agrees with the dating of stratifigraphic units suggested by Dr. Federica Candelato. About oldest units, we can mention, e.g., fragments coming from unit 656, referred to the first century B.C., and those from unit 612, referred to the Augustan Age. These fragments can be referred to types of the same chronological period (Dressel 2). Anyway, the majority of the fragments (e. g. those from unit 367 (= 607 = 475) or from unit 359) can be referred to Imperial Age types. Several of them can be ascribed to the Julio-Claudian and Trajan’s Age (Loeschcke IV), but most of them can be generically referred to “volute-lamps” belonging to Loeschcke VIII type. Passing to most recent units, we can mention unit 307 bis, which gave 11 fragments. Most of them can be referred to late Loeschcke VIII types. A fragment of shoulder, decorated with rows of raised points, can be referred to a “Globule Lamp” of late “Warzenlampen” type, dating back to the IV century AD. Many sherds we have examined are fragments of discus. Some of them are decorated with geometric or figurative patterns. Among them we have recognized a couple of deities, Cupid with a torch, an eagle, a laurel wreath, an erotic scene, and a date along with an acorn, which belong to the “Good Year” Lamps iconography. Among the fragments we have analyzed even a beautiful handle-ornament shaped as a crescent (Fr. L 24).

Abstract
