The present contribution sketches out the main evolutive trends leading to the process of deterritorialization of international law. While identifying the conceptual underpinnings of the concept of legal deterritorialization, it examines the emerging functional dimension of international law, with special regard for territorial disputes and issues of jurisdiction in international human rights regimes.
