In medicine, water has an essential role, due to its obvious and widely exploited properties in therapeutics, also based on hygiene and practice of the baths. As regards the religious sphere, its action is based mainly on three levels: cleanses, promotes regeneration, finally gives fertility, strength, health and knowledge. That’s why the temple structures relevant to the gods healers are developed in close connection with a spring with therapeutic qualities. The analysis of sources concerning these supernatural entities, as part of thermal sites in Roman Italy, showed that those who enjoy greater veneration are Apollo and Minerva.
