Our research was carried out with 11 patients of both sexes (eight males and three females) with ages ranging from 8 to 64 years, who had been admitted to our Neurosurgical Department following severe head injuries. All patients had a midbrain syndrome with coma and stretch cramps which developed either at the time of the trauma or shortly thereafter.
