Complete translation of the courtly romance Parzival (about 1210), by the German poet Wolfram von Eschenbach. The translation, in prose (for prose is today current in narrative, so as the rhymed couplets used by Wolfram were in his time), is based on E. Nellmann's edition (1994), which riedits Lachmann's Parzival text (1833 ff.). The commentary highlights the intertextual ties, which connect Parzival with an impressive corpus of Latin and vernacular texts, beyond the primary source, Chrétien's Conte du graal
