This study examines the inscription on the façade of the church of La Bastia in Isola della Scala, which attributes the work to Chebizo, Guariento and Anno and dates its execution to 1126. Two further inscriptions that are, or may be, associated with the same workshop are then investigated—the inscription on the bell tower of Santo Stefano in Isola della Scala and that reused on the façade of the church of San Fermo Maggiore in Verona—with the additional aim of gaining insight into the team of craftsmen and the specialised roles within it, particularly with regard to epigraphic production.

Abstract
This study examines the inscription on the façade of the church of La Bastia in Isola della Scala, which attributes the work to Chebizo, Guariento and Anno and dates its execution to 1126. Two further inscriptions that are, or may be, associated with the same workshop are then investigated—the inscription on the bell tower of Santo Stefano in Isola della Scala and that reused on the façade of the church of San Fermo Maggiore in Verona—with the additional aim of gaining insight into the team of craftsmen and the specialised roles within it, particularly with regard to epigraphic production.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
