Un músico napolitano en la corte bávara: Los Dialoghi de Massimo Troiano

abstract: The Dialoghi by the Neapolitan musician Massimo Troiano, which narrate in detail the festivities organised for William V of Bavaria’s wedding the wedding of William V of Bavaria with Renata of Lorraine, are part of the system of informative, political and cultural dynamics of the House of Munich. The article focuses on some differences between the German edition of 1568 and the Venetian edition of the following year, including the presence of the parallel text in Spanish translation and two other dialogues, printed only in Italian, useful for learning the Spanish language. Among the novelties of the Venetian edition is the presence of the companies that were carried in the jousts held for the nuptial festivities and which transform, once again, the laudatio urbis of the Bavarian city into a laudatio of the author himself. keywords: Massimo Troiano; Dialogues; Traduction; Self-Citation.
