Storie di una chanson is the first book-length study of Fors seulement and its reworkings. It offers a major interdisciplinary study of the phenomenon of polyphonic reworkings. It explores its subject matter through the lenses of musicology, literary history and theory, art history, medieval and early modern political thought, and theology. The book includes many detailed analyses of music and music manuscripts, and presents a new methodology for analysing and interpreting Renaissance polyphony and its media.
