Analogic Aspects of Dissimulation/Simulation in Seneca's Tragedies

The study is focused on gestures and other analogic elements of communication that occur in an interactive context rather frequent in Seneca’s tragedies, that dominated by simulation and dissimulation. The main objective is to highlight the ways in which characters influence the interlocutors’ behaviour and express their identity when simulating/dissimulating, as well as the reasons why such strategies succeed or fail. Since analogic communication is carried out by means of the visual system of representation, this study positions itself within the reflection on the quality of Senecan word and dramaturgy.
