This contribution analyzes Edith Stein’s philosophy of education by highlighting the structural relationship between pedagogy and philosophical anthropology. Through an examination of Stein’s pedagogical works, it emerges that every educational practice presupposes a specific conception of the human being and of the world. Pedagogy is thus interpreted as a “test bench” for contemporary anthropologies, evaluated according to their capacity to ground authentic formative processes. Central to this perspective is the notion of Bildung as a dynamic process of self-formation of the person, understood in the unity of body, psyche, and spirit. Finally, the article underlines the contemporary relevance of Stein’s proposal for a philosophy of education oriented toward the integral formation of the human person.
