The aim of this contribution is to investigate the challenges posed by teaching German for Specific Purposes (GSP). The focus is on possible strategies to cope with different dimensions of heterogeneity. Starting from an analysis of needs in a glocal perspective, two questions will be addressed: the what question, i.e., the kind of linguistic stimuli which best suit the objective, and the how question, which investigates methodological issues concerning teaching GSP to lifelong learning audiences.
