This special issue brings together several essays that celebrate the quadricentennial anniversary of the publication of Shakespeare’s First Folio in 1623. Following on from the 2023 Law and Humanities roundtable, the articles in this special issue adopt an interdisciplinary stance and lie at the crossroads of law, literature, history, and performative arts, with the First Folio acting as a crucial driver. Marking the quadricentenary of the First Folio allows the authors to discuss several issues related to its publication, such as questions of identity, authorship, and copyright.
