In this contribution I will verify the applicability of the Superficial overlapping model (Bidese & Tomaselli, 2021), extending the original research area also to the Romance and Germanic varieties present in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The distribution of the Null Subject Parameter (NSP) will be analyzed and I will also focus on the German variety of Timavese, which can be placed on an intermediate level of the continuum between Bavarian and Mòcheno/Cimbrian. This suggests a more articulated structure of the phenomena of variation, to be understood as the propagation of (micro)parametric traits (= Sprachbund effect) which manifest themselves at a superficial level as heterogeneous settings of the NSP, however remaining structurally "fixed".
