This introduction discusses the critical premises of the intertextual dialogues between Shakespeare and Italian resources presented in the book, approached from the angle of memories and reuses. It shows how it aims to reconsider the wide field of source studies by bringing together questions of authorial, readerly, and critical intentionality, as well as variable forms of remembering at different points of the author–reader spectrum. It also illustrates the individual case studies collected in it as instantiations of a systematic inquiry into a fluid area where the mobility of viewpoints blurs borders between different stances.

Abstract
This introduction discusses the critical premises of the intertextual dialogues between Shakespeare and Italian resources presented in the book, approached from the angle of memories and reuses. It shows how it aims to reconsider the wide field of source studies by bringing together questions of authorial, readerly, and critical intentionality, as well as variable forms of remembering at different points of the author–reader spectrum. It also illustrates the individual case studies collected in it as instantiations of a systematic inquiry into a fluid area where the mobility of viewpoints blurs borders between different stances.File in questo prodotto:
