Dalla polemica per la verità alla polemica come verità. Un’eredità dimenticata dell’illuminismo

This essay vindicates the enduring philosophical legacy of the German Enlightenment well beyond any idealistic or post-idealistic cliché. In particular, Lessing and Kant are commented on with a view to showing their lasting contribution to a reassessment of how a truly human "quest for truth" looks like: in fact, both insist on its being a matter of polemical dialogue and pluralism rather than isolated discovery, which is why Hannah Arendt could not but refer to both of them to elaborate her own way to conceive of humanity.
