The Sexual/Political illustrates how the sexual drive’s disintegrating force is used in the discriminatory rhetoric and discourses of hate against women, sexual minorities, and racialized subjects. Those who are made to be representatives of the sexual become abject subjects, to be expelled as excrements; they become the enemy at whose expense social bonds are built. Contrarily, this book calls us to understand the fact that the negativity of the sexual affects us all in one way or another and therefore seeks to persuade its readers to take on an attitude of tolerance towards the other, an ethics that does not seek to expel abject enemies from society, but, rather, recognizes the abjection, and thus the antisociality, that dwells in every human being.
