Values are pivotal during the decision-making process of human beings as moral agents. Therefore, values motivate and harbour certain kinds of behavi- ours and attitudes. When we look at the aim of education in a nutshell, we can see that education is designed to convey sets of values, and thus, education changes the behaviour of learners. With the presence of globalization, technolo- gical development, and the advent of multi-ethnic societies, drastic changes have occurred that have affected not only the economic profile, but also the cultural, educational, and, above all, pedagogical level. The purpose is to make common values into values of citizenship; and talking about citizenship means recognizing a place where people meet to build forms of civil and political coexistence in which the logic of the simple composition of interests does not prevail, but which are rather inspired by shared values.
