Lingvokul’turologija e cultural linguistics. Due quasi perfette sconosciute

Lingvokul’turologija and cultural linguistics are two recently developed disciplines devoted to the investigation of the relationship between language and culture. They emerged almost simultaneously in the second half of the 1990s within different geographical areas, respectively Russia and “Western” context. Despite they share the same research goal, lingvokul’turologija and cultural linguistics have been developing in isolation from one another. This paper provides an overview of the theoretical framework of these two disciplines by reconstructing their analogies and differences, and ultimately aims to explain the reasons of their lack of mutual “intercultural communication”.
