Entre el corpus y el tesoro lexicográfico. Algunas reflexiones en torno al estudio de la variación léxica y la polisemia a partir de los gentilicios para el Perú

This article aims to discuss the advantages of carrying out a combined approach when addressing the historical study of the Spanish lexicon in the Americas, i.e., to retrieve and carefully combine the data available both in thesauri and textual corpora. In this sense, by exploring the polysemy of perulero, -a and its lexical variation with peruano, -a and peruviano, -a, on the basis of the information obtained via the Nuevo Tesoro Lexicográfico de la Lengua Española (NTLLE) and the Corpus Diacrónico del Español (CORDE), it is ultimately intended to discuss the role of both type of sources, and, moreover, the one provided by additional historical data, as well as eventual fortuitous contents.
