n recent years the availability of new techniques that can be performed during tidal breathing without sedation has made it possible to measure lung function in pre- schoolers. Also, the international community has agreed on new criteria for spirometry in preschool children. For most of these techniques standard operating procedures, repeatability and cut-offs for bronchodilator response (BDR), and international reference values are now available, making these techniques suitable tools for the evaluation of lung function in preschool children.

Abstract
