this work documents the presence of chivalrous subjects of Hispanic origin in the repertoire of the opera dei pupi through direct and indirect sources. The transmission of these subjects from the Iberian chivalric novels to the representation in the theater of puppets has heterogeneous consistency, which includes both the adaptation of entire works, as the incorporation of brief sequences and motifs, or the mere use of the names of known characters. Oral traditions played a fundamental role in the transmission of these subjects, as well as the publication of popular serial novels in the second half of the 19th century.

Abstract
this work documents the presence of chivalrous subjects of Hispanic origin in the repertoire of the opera dei pupi through direct and indirect sources. The transmission of these subjects from the Iberian chivalric novels to the representation in the theater of puppets has heterogeneous consistency, which includes both the adaptation of entire works, as the incorporation of brief sequences and motifs, or the mere use of the names of known characters. Oral traditions played a fundamental role in the transmission of these subjects, as well as the publication of popular serial novels in the second half of the 19th century.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
