The paper is dedicated to the italian correspondents of V.V. Makušev, the first slavist who chose Italian archives for his researches (1868-1871). Makušev issued in Italy a plenty of historical documents; meanwhile he took contacts with several Italian men of culture who helped him in his issues. Makušev’s journey to the Southern-Italian region of Molise was particularly interesting, for he was the first slavist who visited the “Molisean Slavic colonies”. In Molise he met G. Abstract

De Rubertis, the mean representative of the language and culture of that old Slavic insula.
