This contribution deals with newly adopted legislation n. 162 of Nov. 5 2021 amending the Equal Opportunities Code with regards to workplace gender equality. The author points out some issues related to the change of the notion of gender discrimination and parenthood, stressing that such a change does not address and solve the problem in the Italian antidiscrimination normative that splits gender from other relevant risk factors in EU legislation. Particular attention is paid to the model of equality institutions in Italy.
