The preconception and the interconception care has been identified as a priority of primary health care providers. The paediatrician is one of the leading health care provider in families with a child. The aims of the preconception counselling are: to reframe the well known contents of primary prevention of congenital disabilities addressing the global woman’s health before a pregnancy; to help the woman (couple) to take her (their) own decisions in light of her (their) own reproductive plans.
