Abstract

Mitochondria transferred at nuclear transplantation with the GV karyoplasts did not show any preferential localization within the ooplasm of the reconstituted oocyte. Throughout their maturational progression, these “constructed” oocytes displayed a pattern of mitochondrial distribution corresponding to control intact cells at a comparable stage, though the dye signal intensity was lower because of the relatively small number of mitochondria transferred during this procedure.
