Abstract

In March 2019, Roma living in France experienced a series of violent attacks following the dissemination of vile rumours on social networks. In this article we explore the genealogy of anti-Gypsyism and the 2010s political conjuncture that saw this racism reinvigorated by political discourse and action. In the last part, it is evidenced that violence is the social consequence of a political construction.
