This book outlines the relationship between anthropology and ethics in the late German Enlightenment and follows its subsequent development in Kant and early post-Kantian thought. In order to do so, it focuses on those regions, where the connection between Enlightenment and Criticism is particularly evident, namely Württemberg and Thuringia, and deals with those authors, who were personally involved in the relevant theoretical transition (e.g. Schiller and Fichte).
